Taking my own advice and savoring every minute and every second with my babies. This is my youngest #Kanani. So thankful and so #blessed. To all you little boys out there, “don’t even think about it ! “ lol. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and thank you all for all the support and prayers for #Maka. Going to come up with a plan to help him and his family somehow someway very soon. I will keep you posted. Honestly hard to smile thinking more and more about Maka and his mom and everyone else suffering during this holiday season. We have to count our blessings and focus on #ALOHA
I got permission from the producer of this piece by @komo4 to share it here. I split it up into a few 1 minute increments so hopefully they are in order and you can follow along! Eric Johnson and crew did an awesome job capturing what we try to do for our community. Our profession is often portrayed in ways that I disagree with, and from the two departments in two states that I have worked in, I can say that many of the most selfless, hardworking, and kind people I know are those who I have the privilege of calling coworkers. Most officers prefer to not have someone capturing the random good deeds and acts of kindness that happen in each of their shifts, and having witnessed many such acts myself, I know they occur regularly every single day. I started this Instagram in part due to all the negativity about cops that I was seeing online because it was in contrast to what I was experiencing while working with so many amazing people in our community. Happy thanksgiving to everyone, but particularly to my brothers and sisters in blue who are spending this day away from their own families to help keep the rest of us safe 🤙🏽🚔⚫️🔵⚫️🙏🏽#bellevue#police#outreach#aloha#makeadifference#oahugrown#aiea#skateboarding#jiujitsu#worldclan#music#fitness#trombone#skatelikeacop#servingandprotectingwithalohainwa#thatSLOWgrind#protectbellevuedotcom
Gobble, gobble! Can't eat any of the amazing Thanksgiving food, but at least I have this awesome 🦃 hat, and I can encourage you to take this day to educate yourself on the history of Native American people who lived (and still live) wherever you are! • • •
You might also want to donate to a great organization, like the Native Youth Alliance or the American Indian College Fund, and share some of your blessings this year.
