I wanted so badly to love this book. It was one of my most anticipated releases of the year! Sadly, though, it fell short for me. The characters are terrible, the entire plot is spoiled by the synopsis, and the writing is mediocre. I hear that Amy's earlier works are MUCH better, so I'll give her a second chance, but I can't recommend this one. 😞
As always, there’s a full review on my blog! Link in bio!
A huge thank you to @sahanson for sending me a box with this beautiful book and these goodies! When I first saw the book I got all the heart eyes 😍💚! I dived in yesterday and cannot wait to continue reading today. •
Synopsis of Chosen : It’s been twelve years since the chosen made their presence known across the globe. They are the elite of our race. A community gifted with supernatural abilities . . . and no one outside of it, to hold them accountable. Racism, distrust, and fear now run rampant in the hearts of humans, resulting in hate crimes and worse. Rumors of war are whispered in both factions, while talk of peace has become a thing of the past. A distant dream. Or delusion. In the midst of this political and social unrest, eighteen-year-old Kathryn Stokely suddenly finds herself thrust into a life-threatening situation that promises to turn her world upside down. Secrets and lies about her past are unearthed, forcing her to face a truth that will irrevocably affect her future . . . and who she spends it with. Now, choices must be made. Loyalties decided. Betrayal seems unavoidable. Because the line has been drawn, and there’s no guarantee which side will be left standing. Only one thing is certain. Nothing will ever be the same again. •
I love that through Bookstagram I’ve gotten to meet amazing authors! Thank you again @sahanson you are the sweetest 💕💚. #bookstagram#bookstagrammer#bookish#books#bookworm#booklover
Went by one of my favorite bookstores yesterday and found this gem. Luckily, I’m a fan of Chabon because I couldn’t pass on that cover! •
Excited to dig into this soon, but I’ve need to stay in the Halloween state of mind. •
I’m currently reading The Doll’s Alphabet and loving the uneasiness that Grudova seems to elicit so easily.

#circleofbookishfriends - ghosts/paranormal
I haven't read this entire collection yet (only had a few bites here and there) but this is basically just a pile of ghost stories that Audrey Niggenegger wants us to read. Neil Gaiman, Edgar Allen Poe, and Ray Bradbury are part of the collection and even if they weren't I would still give this a go. Niffenegger wrote one of my most favourite novels (The Time Traveler's Wife), so I trust her.

My name, my days, my strife;
Then I'll ride upon the wings of time
And live an endless life." - Linda Goetsch 🦇🍂
I am back after a long hiatus! I missed my bookstagram friends and everyone who is constant on my account. 💙
I finished reading The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender a while ago and I liked the story but it was hard to get into (3/5 ⭐️s). I finished a few books in the past weeks and I still need to post my large book haul from this month.
My school book club is getting back into regular meeting after prep exams and we have a lot of members that hopefully stay with us until competition but I can not get through my assigned book, Blood Bullets and Bones! It is nonfiction about forensic science and it's interesting but not my favorite genre. I'm working on it.
Danielle Steel - The Right Time
I've read all of Danielle Steel's, from book number one until this one her 100 something best seller. That's a lot of Danielle. Some of hers are great then some are good and some are just ok. This one falls under the category of great. The Right Time is pure escapism. A Danielle book is always a light joyful read. A book to get away from your daily busy life. It's full of happiness, sorrow, heartache, tragedy and of course as always the last page ends with happily ever after. I look forward to the next one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4/5stars
