- Recently, our counselor met with a gentleman who called us wanting to surrender his large breed dog. After discussing the situation with the owner, we were able to help him keep his companion. You see, due to unexpected financial challenges (plunge in the economy) he couldn't afford to provide food for his dog... In dire times, as we all struggle to pay rent or afford basic necessities, pet care costs can become insurmountable and lead to surrendered dogs and cats entering the shelter system. This man was so relieved to learn about PAWS available Food Share Program' which allows him to take a financial break so he could keep his lovable best friend as he got back on his feet!
Intervention all starts with a conversation. This program allows us to take opportunities to listen, empathize, and share available resources and services that exist to support pets and the people who love them!
Please share our services with your network, help spread the work we are doing. A part of our mission is helping to keep pets out of the shelters, join us, help us. We accept all types of dog and cat food and livestock feed (yes, livestock as in chickens, goats etc) there are farm animals who also need our help and intervention. . We need lots of help.
To the individuals who wish to help, please know every donation will go straight towards helping animals in Trinidad and Tobago.
