I’ve just come from the UNHCR camp for the Rohingya refugees. There are many shocking elements to the Rohingya Refugee crisis. One of them is that 54% of the over 600,000 people who have fled unspeakable violence are children. Yet, somehow, they are able to smile. On #worldchildrensday let’s do what we can to protect these precious beings . They are unimaginably resilient , brave beyond comprehension. They deserve to feel safe and have the most basic care. Things that most of us have the luxury of taking for granted. If you can help, please know that it means so much to these children 💙 link in bio #rohingya#bangladesh#worldchildrensday#childrensday#children#kristindavis#hope
द दून ग्लोबल के बच्चों ने बाल दिवस पर मनाया पिकनिक, सभी छात्र एवं छात्राए और अध्यापक काफी उत्साहित दिखे।
“For me, the most shocking part of the Rohingya crisis is the number of children who have had to flee their homes. Over half of the refugees in the camp are children. Some of them have lost one or both parents and they are on their own. These children have faced unimaginable horrors and chaotic violence and then a harrowing journey to safety. They are in need of everything including the very basics of shelter, water and food. I can’t imagine going through what these children and their families have gone through, much less having the strength, resilience andextraordinary bravery these children possess.”
Marking the United Nations Universal Children’s Day today, 20th November 2017, the internationally acclaimed actress and Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, Kristin Davis, is calling for global attention and funding to provide more life-saving aid for Rohingya refugee children in Bangladesh.
“This is currently the fastest growing refugee crisis in the world and seeing the impact of this emergency on children is devastating. But there is hope. I have been witness to the fact the UNHCR, UN Refugee Agency, along with the Bangladeshi Government and its partners, are working around the clock to ensure refugees are safe, sheltered, and protected. UNHCR is also delivering life-saving services and assistance including clean water, shelter, blankets, cooking sets, tarpaulins, to the remotest of locations. But there is so much more to do and more international support is desperately needed.”

The Rohingya are a stateless minority in Myanmar. Since violence began on 25 August 2017, in Myanmar’s northern Rakhine State, over 600,000 people have fled to Bangladesh. Children makeup 54% of the total population; women 52%. Many others are elderly people requiring additional aid and protection.
The amount of happiness it gives me to know that I’ve chosen a career path that is idolized by children can’t be matched by any materialistic item. Children deserve to be able to act like children, even if that means you gotta act like a kid yourself from time to time. All in all this was hands down the best and most memorable day I’ve had this year. Thanksgiving fun day with the Marines was a success😎
Oh and I’d just like to throw it out there that my smile in the first picture is 100% genuine. The story about the pig and elephants adventure was some damn fine literature🧐 #childrensday#marine#marinecorps#thanksgiving#militarymuscle#kids#slipnslide#futuredadaf
On #ChildrensDay we're thinking of all the children and families affected by conflict and violence around the world.
Thanks to you, children like Mekala in India now have the chance of a happy, healthy childhood. Thank you!
