This year I wanted to do some Christmas Eve bags for my kids and coincidentally, @smallprintdesign have these gorgeous bags perfect for what I had in mind! The idea is that you fill the as with something to wear, read, want and need...So I've been on the hunt for the perfect goodies to go inside! Apparently I was so excited I couldn't think because somehow managed to end up with two copies of the "That's not my elf" @usborne_books 😂😂😂 I guess that means there's one for Elliot and one for me now!! I'd love some recommendations for pyjamas for Lilly! The baby section have so many cute pieces for babies but nothing for my 3 year old!

I’m home at my parents’ house for Thanksgiving - which means nostalgia lurks around every corner! Today I stumbled upon my blanket that my grandmother made for me when I was born (and that I slept with until I went away to college), and The Velveteen Rabbit, my younger sister’s very favorite picture book when we were growing up. She had all of us wrapped around her adorable little finger, so we read it to her at least 50 times each. “It’s magic!” she’d say. Any book that can cast a spell on you over and over again is REAL magic. “Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.” Such a beautiful, classic story with so many memories attached to so many of those beautiful words. Don’t miss it! #MarcisBookshelf

Now that we have properly introduced ourselves let's start recommending some books! This wonderful treasure definitely caught our attention the second we saw the title by Michelle Cuevas. A wonderful story about a smart girl coping with grief in a rather odd way. Stella and her dad had a special relationship full of science puns and experiments and projects but when he died unexpectedly Stella was left with a hole in her heart so wide she couldn't even fathom how to move forward. She came up with a plan. She was going to get her Dad's jokes and laughter on the golden record going into space to hopefully be able to communicate with him. What she did not anticipate was was everything going wrong and a black hole escaping from NASA and following her home. Treating it like a proper pet, Stella begins feeding it her problems like ugly sweaters and vegetables. But what will happen when Stella starts feeding it the memories of her dad so she can start to feel happy again? Find out! This book is wonderful and tugs at your heart strings in the best way possible! Full of science, love and silliness we absolutely had to share this with you! Happy reading! #thecareandfeedingofapetblackhole#childrenslit#bookstagram#smartgirlbooks
