If you were raised to feel "special" in a negative way or a positive way, you'll probably live your life to reflect that belief.
"Poverty" for instance may be what you're shown, spoken to about, the very behaviors of someone in poverty may be expected of you while you exist in that "special" place. It will become your identity and constant limitation. But what if you were raised in poverty and even though that was a challenge you saw, you weren't encouraged to fear the journey through these challenges. The conversations in your home where that "you may be in this world, but it's not who you are." You recognized even the most scarce opportunity to learn and expand your environment was a sign there was more out there for you! You would find creative ways through the social barriers and challenges in this realm, because you believe that the edge of the world isn't a waterfall cliff free fall to death! But rather the world is round and can be explored and claimed for the one daring enough to push the limits!
I heard 2 different views of 2 individuals who were raised in the "hood" recently. One described his neighbor almost completely in it's limitations. Most would never make it out of the world he described, as he mentioned. The other man described in brief of its challenges, but primarily he described his creative mind set and approach to choosing a his career path and taking care of his family. It's incredible how your perspective creates your reality. I believe that their are unique challenges anyone who is raised in rough neighborhoods faces, that's undeniable. I also believe that anyone can change their life for themselves if they will diligently work towards and support that belief with intention. I am always visualizing what I want my goal to be like. I feel like a lot of people grow muscle with the intent of just getting big. But you should consider building each muscle for proportions.
