DAY 8 of my backpacking journey from ireland to italy.
Todays journey: a game of thrones tour that took me to carrick-fergus castle for a little while, then to dunlace castle and all accross the northern coastal route to see various game of thrones filming locations like the iron isles, stormlands where renly set up camp and the nights watch (which we werent able to take pictures at, but they had the whole castle set up in a quarry with an actual wall lift). Along the tour i met "sherleen" a bigger game of thrones fan than me. (Shes the one holding up the comparrison picture) she was actually an extra on the show as an undead wildling in the hearthome episode.
-after the game of thrones areas, we ventured together to the giants causeway- a rocky paninsula where all the stones are hexagonal cyllindrical collumbs. A fascinating natural phenomenon that gave rise to mythological stories about giants doing battle. And the carrick-a-rede rope bridge. (Which to be honest is not as grand as they make it out to be...lol)
