Jesus was there ALONE with God, with no disciples around and just him and God. No matter how close Jesus and his disciples could be, there is a need for Jesus to spend quality time with God. This applies to us too, no matter how close we are with our cell members or leaders, nothing matters more than the quality time with God and Jesus recognise this point. That one to one communication, that intimacy with God is what build up the foundation of our faith, it is not a good to have moment but rather a NEED! We need to spend time in order to anchor ourselves deeply in God so that when storms comes, we won’t drown but rather able to sail through the stormy seasons. Just as how Jesus know his time of crucifixion is coming and yet he did not ran away but rather moving forward and eventually overcomes death, bringing salvations to us and this is because Jesus know God from the inside out, therefore Jesus trust God, Jesus obey God and it is because of all those times Jesus had spent with God, Jesus know how great God the Father is, therefore he obeyed and fulfilled God’s will for him.
Jesus as our role model had now reminded us the importance of spending quality time with God. Therefore my dear brothers and sisters, may you have a great time spent with God from today onwards!
