Do I sometimes cross your mind?
Do little things remind you of me?
When people talk about love,
Do you think of me?
Do you remember,
how you held my hand,
and promised me a forever?
When you hear my name,
Do you stop, as I do when I hear yours?
I hope you do.
I hope that even years from now,
I can still make you take a pause.
And remind you of,
Everything we once were,
And when I do,
I hope I can make you smile.

I know things are not the same as they were earlier.
The way your hands rushed to touch the screen, popped up with my texts.
The wait to have that intense conversation, which eased your way to bed every night.
Those desperate smirks on both of our faces, with the hope of our next meeting.
Only your kiss on my hands and forehead remains unchanged.
And, the very naked cuddle blending into one soul.
I know things are not the same as they were earlier.
However, I'm busy aligning these things in order while you are doing so with another.

You are not going to be a perfect person for someone.
So, don't try to be someone who you are not.
Just take a moment, believe in yourself and make that moment perfect for yourself.
Find and Face your fears.
It is okay to have flaws; everybody has flaws.
Nobody is perfect.
It is okay to be scared; It is okay to cry.
But giving up shouldn't be an option.
They always say failure shouldn't be an option.
Why?
Failure should be an option because when you fail and you get up.
And then again you fail, you get up, and that keeps you moving.
Embrace yourself and every breath you take.
Celebrate the life, live it on your terms and not be perfect for someone else.
Real happiness lies in inner peace and gratitude.

Another birthday, another bummer
“She’s 26 now!” I hear them murmur.
Looking for a perfect and suitable match,
Because soon you’ve got eggs to hatch.

The society is funny; I must tell you.
Marriage, sex, kids- then they ask “What’s new?”
Not interested in any of this shit, if I say,
They pop their eyes out and mold me like clay. “I don’t wanna marry; I have goals to achieve.
“Your husband will help you. Darling, you have to leave.”
I don’t need help; I want to do it on my own.
“Choose one of these boys.” Ignorant, they hand me the phone.

Okay, I’ll marry but let me find someone I love.
“Don’t cross the line, dare you to fly above!”
Are you in your senses? I am not the traditional one.
“Fine! Do what you want.” Again, they made a pun.

When I met her, I was breaking, and she seemed happy & bright.
It took me awhile to look deep inside.
To find another soul as unhappy, tired and dark as mine.
To find another person standing alone, scared in a crippling world of lies.
She held my hand for strength and support, and in her grip, I found love & comfort.
From deep philosophy and sad experiences to non-stop laugh & stupid logic, we entered a new world together, hand in hand.
Said goodbye to toxicity and embraced life’s good & bad.
From discussing smallest of problems to stalking hot boys & dedicating quotes to cheesy conversations, we learned to get up & walk together.
Live life to fullest and laugh without a break,
She's my best friend, soulmate & constant guide,
And we're a lovely version of two broken people fixing each other's lives.

Ya'aburnee (Arabic) - A declaration of dying before them because it would be impossible to live without them.

When I kiss your skin, and you grasp my touch tighter,

When you kiss the scars on my skin before making love, and stars after,

When our hands kiss under the sheets or in my imagination standing on the balcony,

When you whisper words, which means more than love from your giggles,

And when you rest your world on my lap while humming silence,

My love shouts out loud without making a noise,

Ya'aburnee.

It's not about the romance.
It's about the scarcity of words.
Just as the call connects, all those thoughts you wanted to articulate are mere letters without any meaning, and you don't know what to say.
You are low on time.
You say greetings in hush-hush and ask about things in short-hand.
Distance scares when everything you want to express becomes limited.
For words and time don't go hand in hand if you restrict them.

To,
The person who broke my heart

I don't know how would I react if one day, you'll come in front of me all of a sudden.
Maybe a sigh of you will make my heart beats faster, or maybe I'll struggle to breathe.
Maybe I'll be relieved that you are okay or maybe I'll be cursing for why are you even alive.
Maybe I'll be wanting to talk to you whether it's just for a nanosecond or maybe I'll turn a blind eye.
Maybe I'll start crying, eliciting the old times or maybe I'll be gratified that I weathered the storm.
Maybe I'll be yearning to hear your name, or maybe I'll be hoping that may I never meet a person having the same name as yours.
Maybe...just maybe... Yours Lovingly,
Someone with a recovering heart.

Oh, baby run!
It's time,
My demons are waking up.
Run!
Before it’s too late,
Run before my lips forget to smile,
Run before I let the darkness you filled me with,
Come out of me,
Run before I make you show your own self of wickedness,
Run before I undress my soul,
And show you the wounds you engraved it on.
I kept on forgiving you,
loving you, Trusting you,
But
You kept on stabbing me, torturing me,
Always proving your frailties,
And cruelties you kept on.
So, Baby,
It's time,
Run.
Run before I forget the lessons of moralities,
Run before I become someone else,
Someone, I didn't let you see before.
Run!
My demons are waking up!

Wait. Wait.
Where are you going?
Stay with me.
Let me touch you, and I'll let you touch me a little.
I'll caress your cheeks,
I'll feel your lips.
Don't run tonight.
Why are you looking for a place to hide, kid?
Remember, when I brought you chocolates, the other night.

To travel is to live.
You meet new people,
Have new experiences,
Drink a hot coffee and talk to strangers,
Sit in an unknown Cafe and eat a samosa,
Walk till you are tired and rest,
Drink directly from the mountains,
Explore ruins,
Take a bath under a waterfall,
Cry, all you can,
Fall, let it bleed and clot,
For the pain is real,
Climb a bus and sit by the window,
Watch little children wave at you,
Spend sleepless nights watching the stars glow,
Sit down and mourn the deaths of unknown,
Take a dip in cold waters as the clouds rejoice,
Take a pen and a paper and write, what comes then and not what you've thought of before,
Life is a rainbow waiting to be explored,
For it has an expiry and it's very short,
And you've to make the best out of it.
